William Miller - Writer & Director
A self taught filmmaker, whose experience and background in professional football have figured heavily in some of his early work. Having played for Tottenham Hotspur & Burton Albion before leaving football at the age of 23 to pursue film making, William’s creative style and authentic experience of that world have led to directing the likes of the ‘This Is Football’ series for England and the ‘Playing For Change’ series with Adidas.
This film is an amalgamation of his personal experiences and things he has seen some of my closest friends go through, some of those friends are involved in the making of this film as well. William is am deeply passionate about telling this story and showing a side to the football world that is often overlooked, whilst using the personal experiences of the footballing world from the people involved to capture something truly authentic, raw and honest.
Moe Hashim - Lead Actor
The lead role was written specifically for Moe, a close friend of ours who has also played Professional football and has all of the authentic experiences to draw on when shaping and performing this character. Similarly, Moe turned away from football at a young age to pursue a career in film. He has most recently starred in the Emmy winning Apple series Ted Lasso, as Moe Bumbercatch.
Miguel Carmenes - Cinematographer
A wonderfully talented cinematographer and a great friend. We have worked closely together on many projects including the ‘This Is Football’ series for England and the ‘True Tenaci’ advert based around a young footballer trying to gain control of his career. Miguel can also relate to the idea of pursing a passion with immense dedication, building an idea of who you are going to be as a person around that passion and having to adjust perspective on yourself when it doesn’t come to fruition. Miguel creates beautiful and powerful imagery that is driven by story and connected to the emotion of what’s happening in front of camera.
